Steamed Buns

The traditional Chinese steamed buns that are so popular in the Far East were initially not a huge hit with Israeli consumers. Their doughy consistency and pale color were unlike local bread, and they often lacked the capacity and structural integrity to hold substantial fillings without falling apart.

Until now.

A new take on the Asian steamed bun

Fresh Asia gave these steamed buns an overhaul, using natural ingredients to enhance the color and create a texture more in tune with local tastes. We decided to leave the fillings out altogether, lending this lighter, healthier, vegan bread substitute versatility as well as flavor. At first sold only in Asian restaurants, they have now become a firm favorite of the catering industry, restaurant chains and grocery stores.

Our unique technology enables us to produce a high-quality product that retains its shape when filled, stays soft even when heated in the microwave, and has a long shelf life.
